Homemade Cola Syrup Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Dark Jaggery or Coconut Sugar

  • 1/2 cup Water

  • 2 tbsp Sugar (optional, for caramel)

  • 1/4 tsp Coriander Seeds

  • A pinch of Nutmeg

  • 1/8 tsp Cinnamon Powder

  • Peel of:

    • 1/2 orange

    • 1/2 lime

    • 1/2 lemon

  • 6 to 7 drops Vanilla Extract

  • 1/4 tsp Citric Acid (Nimbu ke phool)

  • Juice of:

    • 1/2 orange

    • 1/2 lime

    • 1/2 lemon

Method:

  1. Optional Caramel:

    • If using sugar for caramel, heat 2 tablespoons of sugar in a pan until it melts and turns golden brown. Set aside.

  2. Prepare the Syrup:

    • In a pot, combine jaggery (or coconut sugar) and water.

    • Bring the mixture to a boil, ensuring the jaggery dissolves completely.

  3. Add Spices and Peels:

    • Add coriander seeds, nutmeg, cinnamon powder, and the orange, lime, and lemon peels to the boiling mixture.

    • Let it simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.

  4. Add Vanilla Extract:

    • Remove the pot from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. Cool and Add Acidity:

    • Once the syrup has cooled down, mix in the citric acid (or the juice of orange, lime, and lemon).

  6. Strain and Store:

    • Strain the syrup to remove solids and transfer it to an airtight container.

To Serve:

  • Mix 2–3 tablespoons of the cola syrup with chilled soda water for a refreshing fizzy cola. Adjust syrup quantity to taste.

Storage:

  • Store the cola syrup for future use

Enjoy your homemade fizzy cola! 🌟
